We are pleased to share that we have a career opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineering Manager as a strategic part of the Blue Bird Production Engineering Team. JOB SUMMARY: Reporting to the Director, Manufacturing Engineering, this role is responsible for directing the activities of Manufacturing Engineering in an efficient manner for the desired quality and quantity of work. You will ensure that product designs, specifications, facilities and labor are maximized to improve the manufacturability at the lowest cost for all products. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Direct the Manufacturing engineering team in optimizing production support, cost reduction, line presentation of material, lean manufacturing improvements, process development and corrective action support Assure that resources are available to provide necessary tooling, routers, labor standards, raw material structure, make vs. buy analysis, process instructions, and technical support for the timely implementation of engineering changes Establish accountability and goals for the Manufacturing Engineering team to be used in annual performance appraisals Work within an ISO 9000 quality system and produce documentation acceptable to the customer Utilize fiscal responsibility in manufacturing process, equipment/tooling procurement, and travel Hold employees and support functions accountable for achieving objectives Perform other related duties as assigned KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Balanced, dynamic, methodical approach; good work ethic, integrity, and professional conduct Must demonstrate leadership, conflict resolution skills; assertiveness, motivational and positive attitude; foster teamwork Superior written and verbal communication skills; administrative and financial skills, excellent problem solver; able to interact with personnel at all levels Must possess excellent planning, organization, and leadership skills EDUCATION AND EXPEREINCE : Bachelor Degree in Engineering field required; Masters level preferred A minimum of 10 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership or managerial role Competent user of MS Office products including Project *The specific statements shown in each section of this description are not intended to be all-inclusive.
